Streaming music services are giving away smart speakers

Seems as though streaming music services, such as Spotify and Amazon unlimited music are giving away free smart speakers. So, in what turned out to be in what appeared to be a price mistake on Amazon. Amazon was giving away, Alexa echo dots third generations, for basically 99 cents plus the first month subscription to Amazon unlimited music for $7.99.

So in theory you can get a Echo Dot for $9 today. And, again, that was supposedly a price mistake. But shortly after that. A announcement from Spotify, in partnership with Google, they’re giving away a Google mini with any of their premium plans, including family plans for Spotify.

Apparently Spotify did something like this last year and they had a lot of success with it. But in this particular instance, Spotify with the Google Minis is exclusively in white, you’ll only get the white Mini while supplies last. But that speaker is completely free, so you can get that if you’re a Spotify Premium member, even if you sign up today as a new one, or you’re an existing member.

So that’s an interesting take and really explains why the Alexa, Echo Dot third generation was discounted to 99 cents, with the Amazon unlimited music subscription trial. So anyways, check both of those out. Those are interesting news events for today, especially as it relates to the streaming services and who you actually are going to use, whether that’s Amazon unlimited music, Spotify. Apple Music, etc.
